We engineer the components for our EFI-IR kits for each specific application, sourcing product from the finest manufacturers so you don’t have to worry about compatibility issues. Our kits include a HILBORN EFI-IR manifold, engine management suite and fuel system, along with a remote thermostat housing and synchrometer.
HILBORN EFI-IR Manifolds
HILBORN EFI-IR manifolds are not conversions, but are engineered at the foundry level to accept the EFI components. Our racing experience has taught us that one size doesn’t fit all, so we design each manifold around your specific application by picking the correct butterfly, fuel rail and injector nozzle size. Multiple butterfly sizes give us the flexibility to tailor the manifold to meet your horsepower requirements or drivability needs. All manifolds are finished in a protective clear anodize giving them the distinctive nostalgia grey color. Many other finishes are also available so be sure to check out our finish options page. As a True IR design, it does not have a plenum that is all the rage today. 351 Windsor Applications (factory 9.5 inch deck height). Injector manifolds are available for any combination of heads including factory iron, aftermarket aluminum, Cleveland 2V or 4V, Yates heads and CHI heads.
351 Cleveland Applications (factory 9.2 inch deck height). We also supply injector manifolds for Cleveland based engines with factory or aftermarket 2V or 4V heads or any combination of factory Windsor, Yates or CHI head.
351M, 400 Applications (factory 10.29 inch deck height). With our 3 piece design we can also accommodate the 351M and 400 applications with any variation of cylinder head.
302, Boss 302 Applications (factory 8.2 inch deck height). For high performance 302, or for all 302 Boss applications, we are able to use our 351 injector. Due to reduced clearance between the cylinder heads, a distributor offset, relocated distributor, or coil over plug ignition will be required. Please see our injector for regular 302 applications. Please consult our EFI tech line to discuss requirements for these applications.
Our 3 piece injectors are semi-custom allowing us to machine the port for your application. This gives us the flexibility to fit all of the above applications. But if you have a combination not listed above please consult our EFI tech line.
The heart of any EFI system is the engine management system. Today, the most requested feature is self-learning. Although this feature will help eliminate some of the manual tuning that was a requirement with older systems, it is not a perfect technology, so we only supply ECU’s that have lap-top access in order to fix troublesome spots that the self-learn alone cannot fix. We have learned that high horse power and race only applications will require more hands on tuning to extract their maximum potential.
As part of the kit we provide an IR specific base calibration, along with comprehensive technical support to answer any questions you might have. As this technology advances, we will continue to offer the latest in aftermarket features, integrating them into your system.

Additional components provided in the kit for proper installation include a remote thermostat housing and a synchrometer for fine tuning the butterflies. A true IR does not suffer from the disruptive cylinder to cylinder reversion pulses associated with a common plenum intake or IR manifolds with a plenum chamber. These pulses promote fuel separation from the air carrier, the slowing of air movement in the manifold, and the inability to realize engine potential due to poor cylinder fill and burn characteristics in the combustion chamber. However, the IR design of the HILBORN manifold isolates these pulses, allowing the engine to make more bottom end torque, have increased throttle response and, most importantly, to accelerate faster. Most applications will also see a significant increase in top end power. Elimination of these reversion pulses is also responsible for our excellent low speed drivability, even with aggressive camshafts.

Payment Policy: While we make every effort to fill and ship individual parts orders in a timely manner, complete injector kits and special orders may require more time due to the fact that each injector unit is built and flow tested to meet our customer’s individual engine specification and racing application. We accept all major credit cards or COD payments by certified funds. All shipments to foreign countries must be pre-paid.
Air shipments are available, however, unless otherwise specified, we will ship your order via United Parcel Service-ground. Orders sent to foreign countries can be shipped via United Parcel Service to most areas or by another specified Air Freight Forwarder (freight collect).
All retail prices referenced in the following pages are subject to change without notice. The current retail selling price at the time of shipment will apply to all orders. We cannot guarantee that all items referenced in the products catalog will continue to be available.
Merchandise may be returned only within 30 days from the invoice date and only with pre-authorization. Refund, credit, repair, or exchange are given at our option after factory inspection. Returned items will be subject to a restocking fee of 10% of the list price. Returns must be sent freight pre-paid by the original purchaser and each item accompanied by the invoice number and purchase date. Merchandise returned COD, or after 30 days from the invoice date, will not be accepted. Claims for shortages must be made immediately upon receipt of your order.

: Our fuel injectors are manufactured strictly for use with high performance engines for racing and off-highway use only, and are therefore subject to the unusual stresses normally associated with this type of use. Since the operation of these engines is far in excess of the safe limits that are usually set for engines, breakage and failures are common, and are an accepted risk in racing. Also, the history of racing has always been one of trial and error by the users of this type of equipment. Therefore, because of the many unknown factors involved in experimentation, and because of the safe limits being exceeded by virtually every part in the engine, we do not offer a warranty of any kind on our equipment. It is purchased and used by the buyer at his own risk and with this understanding. If any of our parts become defective after purchase, the buyer assumes all cost of service or repair.

Polishing/Ceramic Clear Coating
Few finishes beat the glow of a highly polished manifold, making this is our number one finish option. Polishing can be mixed and matched with other finishes to provide a one of a kind manifold not soon forgotten.
Love the polished look, but not the constant upkeep required? Pair your polished manifold with our clear ceramic coating that eliminates the ongoing maintenance. Our clear ceramic is a high temperature, non- yellowing, scratch and impact resistant coating that eliminates the constant upkeep needed with bare aluminum. Once the manifold is polished, it receives a high temperature steam bath to remove any polishing residue before the ceramic finish is applied. Our ceramic clear will keep your manifold looking like new for years to come.
Our ceramic coating is a high temperature, scratch and impact resistant coating, typically used on headers, that will protect your manifold from the bumps and bruises experienced by any application that is driven, raced or worked on frequently. Available in select colors and as a matte finish only, they are perfect for those looking for the best overall protection or to fit the more high tech looking engine bay that is trending today.

Chromed ram tubes are the crowning touch to your HILBORN fuel injector and is the perfect maintenance free option that fits with any manifold finish.

Mechanical Fuel Injection Manifolds/Systems
All Mechanical based HILBORN Fuel Injection manifolds or systems are classified as “For Racing Use Only” and are intended to be used on vehicles that are exclusively designated for racing use only. They are not legal for use on vehicles that are registered for street use.
Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) Manifolds/Systems
All HILBORN EFI Manifolds or Systems can be classified for use on either:
- Pre-Pollution Controlled Vehicles (PPCV): Legal for use on pre-pollution controlled vehicles. They can be used on all vehicles that were manufactured before emissions control regulations were imposed. These vehicles are considered “uncontrolled vehicles.”
Uncontrolled vehicles are defined as…
1965 and older U.S. manufactured California Certified vehicles
1967 and older U.S. manufactured Federally Certified vehicles
1967 and older Foreign manufactured vehicles
- Engine Swap: Legal for use on engines that have been transplanted or swapped into an uncontrolled or pre-pollution controlled vehicle, as defined above. They are not legal for use on pollution controlled vehicles.
